A Stop Through Dresden

September 18, 2006 / by berniefrankl

From Weisbaden I started to make my way towards Prague, in the Czech Republic, but spent the night and next day in Dresden, Germany. Dresden is famous for having been bombed heavily towards the end of WWII. Much of the city was destroyed and around 35,000 people were killed just 60 years ago, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the city today. Many of the buildings were rebuilt or restored and the city looks amazing.

Typical cheesy silver-painted European robot.

Trust me, this is funny if you have ever seen the movie "Eurotrip".

Dresden was being rebuilt after the wall came down. I was there in 1992 and they had just begun work on the Dom, the big cathedral with the dome.
