My ferry from Greece landed in the port town Bodrum, Turkey. From Bodrum I caught a bus that brought me to the town of Selcuk, which is very near to the ruins of Ephesus.

Every Turkish male must serve in the military for 15 months. The service is considered a right of passage that is celebrated up to the moment the young cadet leaves. During my overnight ride towards Istanbul there were several celebrations such as these.
